Antevê was a Rio-based production company active in the mid-1980s and 1990s, comprising Roberto Berliner, Sandra Kogut and Cabeça. Closely connected with the music scene of the time, the company created works with Fausto Fawcett and Fernanda Abreu – such as Katia Flávia, a Godiva de Irajá (1987), and Juliette (1988), and videos such as Paralamas do Sucesso - V o Vídeo (1987) -, documenting band Paralamas do Sucesso’s tour, and, in that same year, the music video for the band’s song A Novidade. The company’s team also worked with Ed Motta in the video for the song Manuel (1989). In 1988 they also made Andréa Andróide (1988), based on a poem by Chacal, set to music by Ricardo Barreto. Throughout its career, the company constantly referenced the comic book world and employed humor, constantly striving to combine experimentation and mass appeal, an example of which is Juliette, created in partnership with Rede Globo’s Fantástico TV show.
