Arts Collaboratory is calling out institutions involved in collaborative art practices and social innovation. Entries from organizations based in Africa, Asia and Latin America will be accepted until April 15, and funding will be provided by Dutch foundations Hivos and DOEN. The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea is promoting an international research program for museum professionals such as curators, art critics, educators etc. The deadline for entries is April 15. The Exuberant Politics program of the University of Iowa (USA) is accepting 70- to 90-minute projects from cinema/video artists that set forth “exuberant” responses to the political and historical issues of contemporary times. Up until April 21, the Hangar (Barcelona) is accepting collaborative, interdisciplinary art research projects, and will provide artists with the opportunity to invite professionals from other fields. Art, theory, or applied research projects will be accepted, including collaborative processes with related fields such as cultural studies and scientific/technological research. The Facade Video Festival, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is accepting entries of video art works. The jury-appointed winners will undergo an artist residency at the Art Today Lab. Learn more from the festival website.
The 7th Summer Seminars for Art Curators will take place at the Contemporary Art Institute in Yerevan, Armenia from August 12 to 18. Up until April 30, a commission will select the participants, who will investigate the intersections between multiple possibilities in contemporary curating. This year’s edition of the Delhi Photo Festival, due from September 27 through October 11, is selecting work from photographers and curators for printed photography shows, digital shows, photographic installations, films, and multimedia work. Based in Barbados, The Fresh Milk Art Platform Inc. is a Caribbean multidisciplinary, non-profit organization. Its residency program encompasses a wide range of art productions, among them visual arts, cinema, literature/criticism etc., to be developed over 1- to 3-month periods in a rural setting. The symposium Sites of Construction: Exhibitions and the making of recent art history in Asia, organized by Asia Art Archive in collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Centre, sets out to explore the role played by art shows in the development of art history and pedagogy, as well as the acceptance of contemporary art in Asia.
