Located in Serbia, the Napon - Institute for Flexible Cultures and Technologies – is seeking artists for its Autonomies show. Entries must converse with intelligent, autonomous systems and their impact on society, and will be accepted by June 1 on the institute’s website.
The VIDEOHOLICA Video Art Festival, held in Varna, Bulgaria, is accepting entries for its 6th edition. This year’s theme is “out of focus,” a creative opposition to the clean, error-free trend in advertising. The deadline for entries is June 15. Find more about the festival here.
Each year, the Slovenia- and Australia-based Memefest picks out a text and/or image to serve as a basis for critical reflection on current media and communication. The theme this year is food democracy and entries will be accepted up until May 20, in the categories of visual communication, critical essay, and other possibilities conducive to social mobilization. Up until May 20, the Sea Art Festival will be selecting maritime installation projects to be carried out at Songdo Beach in Busan, South Korea. The Prince Claus Fund is accepting cultural projects designed to rethink the public space, from individuals or organizations based in Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Caribbean.
