Individual and shared stories
Curator Selene Wendt created for Platform:VB a mapping based on the intricate relation between individual and shared stories, which for her reveal what can be described as a global narrative. In this mapping, Wendt illustrates her thought connecting five works selected by the Festival: Doméstica, by Gabriel Mascaro, and Sergio e Simone, by Virginia de Medeiros, both winners of artist residencies and participants of the On Tour project; alognside Rabeca, by Caetano Dias, and Motherland, by Sherman Ong, both of which received honorable mentions; and Sympathy for the Devil, 2011, by Claudia Joskowicz. The researcher also included references to the work of artist Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, as well as texts by Walter Benjamin, Edward Said and Guimarães Rosa.
