Solange O. Farkas is the recipient of the Montblanc award

In a ceremony held at Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo last Tuesday (10), Solange O. Farkas was announced the great winner of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award. The curators and co-chairmen of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, attended the ceremony. The German maison was also represented by Alain Dos Santos, managing director at Montblanc Brazil.
In its 26th edition, the second in Brazil, the award, which recognizes cultural patronage initiatives and grants winners a contribution of € 15,000 for new projects, is present in seventeen places: Germany, China, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, United States, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland and, for the first time, Bangladesh.
Selected by an international jury comprised of fifty-one professionals from different areas, the other Brazilian competitors were: Instituto Criar de TV, Cinema e Novas Mídias, created by TV host Luciano Huck; and Instituto Ricardo Brennand, directed by the Pernambuco-based businessman and collector.
In Brazil, the jury was composed of: Paula Alzugaray, independent curator, art critic and publisher of Select Art magazine; Luciano Cury, content director at Canal Arte1; and Jochen Volz, director at Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and member of Montblanc Cultural Foundation’s recently created Curatorium.
