Performance in final leg of On Tour in Campinas
Carolina Mendonça’s Público performance will wrap up the Public Programs of the On Tour exhibition, now showing at Sesc Campinas and featuring prize- and honorable mention-winning works from the 18th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. The performance, enacted by Campinas residents selected through an open call, subtly interferes with the routes of exhibition visitors in order to observe their behavior and relationship with the artworks and with the other in the exhibition venue. The performance was enacted on September 24 and 25 at two different times: 3:30 pm and 8 pm.
In the preceding week, the On Tour program featured a screening of the short film Mixtape: Videobrasil Campinas. The last film in the series created by Paulo and Ricardo Miyada reviews the crucial role played by the audience that frequents the exhibition, featuring statements from Sesc Campinas visitors, images and participants in the first two videos of the Mixtape: Videobrasil project, held at Sesc São Carlos and Sesc Pompeia. In addition to the Public Programs activities, the Festival’s On Tour program offers educational actions and digital platforms for accessing the Videobrasil Collection, comprising roughly 1,300 videos and recorded performances gathered over thirty years of the Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil.
The exhibition, featuring the 14 prize- and honorable mention-winning works from the 18th Festival, will continue until October 5 (Sunday) at Sesc Campinas.
